A quick gravy that is made with Potato and Onion. This is served with Appam or Idiyappam. You can also make this dish in microwave owen.

Ingredients

  • Potato – 4 Nos

  • Onion – 2 Nos

  • Green chillies – 4

  • Red Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons

  • Garam Masala powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste

  • Coconut Milk – 1 cup

Directions

  • Begin by peeling the skin from the potato and cutting it into medium-sized pieces. Next, chop the onion into small pieces and make a small slit in each green chilli.
  • Combine the prepared potato, onion, and green chillies in a pressure cooker. Season the mixture with chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Add sufficient water to fully submerge the potato. Secure the lid of the pressure cooker and cook the mixture until you hear two to three whistles.
  • Once cooked, remove the pressure cooker from the heat and let it release pressure naturally. Then, return the cooker to the stove on low heat. Add the coconut milk to the pot, stirring well to combine. Allow the stew to simmer gently.
  • Serve this aromatic stew with either Appam or Idiyappam for a satisfying meal.

Notes

  • Microwave all ingredients, excluding coconut milk, in a microwave-safe dish for four to five minutes or until potatoes are thoroughly cooked. Then, add coconut milk and microwave for an additional minute.
