Onion Curry

Ingredients

  • Big onion – 1 No
  • Tomato – 1 No
  • Sambar Powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ teaspoon
  • Oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard – ½ teaspoon
  • Jeera – 1 teaspoon
  • Asafotida Powder – a pinch
  • Curry Leaves – few
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste

Directions

  1. Chop onion and tomato finely.
  2. In a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it pops up add jeera, asafotida powder and curry leaves. Fry for a second. Add onion and fry till it is transparent. Then add tomato and fry till it is mashed well. Add sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt and fry till all blends well.
  3. Can be taken with chapati, idli or soft dosa.
