This quick onion curry is made with onion and tomato and can be taken with chapati, idli or soft dosa.

Ingredients

  • Big onion – 1 No

  • Tomato – 1 No

  • Sambar Powder – 2 teaspoons

  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ teaspoon

  • Oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard – ½ teaspoon

  • Jeera – 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida Powder – a pinch

  • Curry Leaves – few

  • Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste

Directions

  • Chop the onion and tomato finely.
  • In a pan add the oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it pops up add jeera, asafoetida powder and curry leaves. Fry for a second.
  • Add onion and fry till it is transparent.
  • Then add tomato and fry till it is mashed well.
  • Add sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt and fry till all blends well.
