- Semiya – 1 cup
- Rice flour – 1 cup
- Curd – 1 cup
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Asafotida – ¼ teaspoon
- Onion – 1 Big
- Curry leaves – few
- Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste
- Oil – as required
Put one teaspoon oil in a kadai and fry the semiya till light brown. Cool it. Beat the curd well and add to the semiya. Add rice flour with sufficient water and make a thick batter. Keep aside for half an hour.
Chop the onion finely. Add chopped onion, curry leaves, red chilli powder, asafotida and salt to the semiya mixture. Mix well.
Heat a tava and grease it. Take a big spoonful of batter and spread it like thick adai. Pour one teaspoon oil around the adai. When one side is cooked well, turn it and cook other side also.
Tips: You can also add a handful of drumstick leaves or any greens chopped finely to the batter.
