Ingredients

  • Besan flour – 2 cups

  • Coconut gratings – 2 cups

  • Sugar – 2 and half cups

  • Ghee – 1/2 cup

  • Cardamon powder – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Heat a small amount of ghee in a kadai and fry the besan flour, stirring continuously until it emits a pleasant aroma. Set the roasted besan aside once done.
  • In a separate vessel, pour in ¾ cup of water and add sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the syrup thickens.
  • Combine the fried besan and coconut gratings with the sugar syrup. Stir the mixture continuously to prevent it from sticking or forming lumps.
  • Gradually incorporate the remaining ghee into the mixture, continuing to stir. Cook until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the vessel.
  • Stir in the cardamom powder, mixing well to ensure it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Pour the mixture onto a greased plate and spread it out evenly. Allow it to cool. Once it’s set, cut it into your desired shapes.
  • Enjoy your homemade sweet treat!
