  • Coconut gratings – 2 tablespoons

  • Sambar Podi – 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder – a pinch

  • Oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard – ½ teaspoon

  • Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves – few

  • Chop the onion, ginger and green chilli.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add urad dal, asafoetida and fry until light brown. Add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, onion and fry well.
  • Add banana gratings, salt, turmeric powder and sambar powder and mix well. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for four to five minutes. Finally, add coconut and stir everything well. Add lemon juice and turn off the heat.

Notes

  • If you like masala taste, then add half teaspoon of aniseeds in the seasoning.
  • Also adding lemon juice will give tangy taste to the Podimas. If you do not like, then skip adding the lemon juice.
