An easy and healthy snack made with sprouted moong dal

Ingredients

  • Sprouted Moong – 1 cup

  • Red Chillies – 3 to 4

  • Curry leaves – few

  • Coconut gratings – 1 tablespoon

  • Oil – 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida – a pinch

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Cook the sprouted moong in an open vessel with a bit of water, being careful not to overcook it. Alternatively, you can microwave it for a few minutes.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, then add mustard seeds. Once they pop, add urad dal, broken red chilies, asafoetida powder, grated coconut, and curry leaves. Sauté briefly.
  • Then, stir in the cooked moong.
  • Season with a pinch of salt, mix well, and remove from heat.
