Ellu Urundai is a delicious and easy-to-make Prasad that is traditionally prepared for Vinayaka Chathurti and Krishna Jayanthi Festivals.

Ingredients

  • Ellu (Til seeds) – 1 cup

  • Jaggery powdered – 3/4 cup

  • cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • To make Urundai, put Ellu (white til seeds) in a kadai and dry fry until it starts crackling. Remove and cool it. Put it in a mixie and grind for two to three rounds.
  • Then add powdered jaggery (reduce to 1/2 cup when using white til seeds) and grind for a few seconds.
  • Finally add cardamom powder and run the mixie for one to two rounds.
  • Remove and shape into small lemon-sized balls.
  • This quick Prasad is normally prepared for Vinayaka Chathurti/Krishna Jayanthi Festivals.
  • Note
  • If you use white til seeds, the laddu will be light brown in colour.
