Maida Dosai

This quick dosai is made with maida, rice flour, onion, chilies and spices. Unlike regular dosai, there is no need to grind and ferment the dough.

This quick dosai is made with maida, rice flour, onion, chilies and spices. Unlike regular dosai, there is no need to grind and ferment the dough.

Ingredients

  • Maida – 2 cup

  • Rice flour – ½ cup

  • Chilli flakes – 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida Powder – a pinch

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

  • Onion – 1 chopped finely

  • Green Chillies – 3 to 4 chopped finely

  • Curry leaves – few chopped

Directions

  • Mix maida and rice flour along with salt and add enough water to make a thin batter.
  • Add chilli flakes, asafoetida powder, chopped onion, curry leaves and green chillies to the batter.
  • Heat tawa. Wipe it with oil. Pour one big ladle of batter in the tawa and spread it out like a dosa.
  • Pour a teaspoon of oil around the corners of the dosa.
  • After it cooked one side, flip it over and cook other side also. Remove it and serve with chutney

    It is a quick recipe when you do not have ordinary dosa batter. You can also add a teaspoon of Jeera and little coconut pieces or carrot pieces to the batter.

  8. I didnt have rice flour. Can I use only 2 cups of maida or 1 cup maida and 1 cup godhuma ?

  9. I tried this dosa today.Taste is good…My mom add some curd,1/4th cup of sooji,red chillipowder and coriander.Taste is awesome.
