This quick and easy Sundal recipe is made with green gram sprouts. You can serve this with steamed rice or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • Green gram sprouts – 1 cup (Steam cooked)

  • Red chilli or green chilli – 2 Nos

  • Oil – 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida – a pinch

  • Curry leaves – few

  • Lemon juice – few drops

  • Coconut gratings – 1 tablespoon (optional)

  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon or as per taste

Directions

  • In a frying pan add the oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it pops up, add urad dhal and fry till it become light brown.
  • Add asafoetida, red chillies (cut into pieces), and curry leaves. Fry for a second.
  • Then add the sprouts and salt. Mix well.
  • Before removing add lemon juice and coconut gratings. Mix everything well once again.
