Godhumai Rawa Upma is a comforting, savory semolina breakfast that starts by dry-roasting whole-wheat rawa until it just changes color for a nutty aroma. Temper mustard seeds, dals and broken red chilies in hot oil, add asafoetida, then sauté onions and curry leaves until translucent. Pour in boiling water with salt, stir in the roasted rawa, cover and simmer on low until the water is absorbed and the rawa is tender. Serve hot—brighten it with a squeeze of lemon and chopped cilantro for freshness.

Yes. cracked wheat is same as wheat rawa and it is light brown in colour, same as wheat colour.

Please indicate whether finely chopped ginger or ginger paste is to be added and at which stage?
