Puttu Podi is a coarse rice powder normally used for making Puttu. This Urundai is prepared using the Puttu Podi and coconut gratings. It is easy to make and have it as evening snack or breakfast/ dinner.
Puttu Podi Urundai are soft, steamed rice-coconut dumplings made from puttu podi. Bring 2 cups water to a boil, add salt and grated coconut, then lower the heat and stir in the puttu podi until it forms a soft dough. Once cool enough to handle, roll into lemon-sized balls, place them on an idli or steamer plate, and steam for 10 minutes. Serve hot with a spicy chutney for a comforting, easy snack or breakfast.
