Ingredients
Wheat Rawa – 1 cup
Finely chopped vegetable – 1 cup
(Carrot, Beans, Capsicum, Cabbage, Potato or any other desired/available vegetables)Onion – 1
Red Chillies – 2
Fresh ginger – a small piece
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Mustard – ½ teaspoon
Bengal gram dhal – 1 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Cashew nuts = few (Optional)
Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves – few
Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste
Water – 2 and half cups
Directions
- Boil the water.
- In a kadai, put the oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it starts pop up, add the dals, cashew nut, red chillies broken into bits, asafoetida powder and fry till the dhal turns light brown.
- Add chopped onion, ginger and curry leaves. Fry till onions are transparent.
- Add chopped vegetables and stir fry for few minutes.
- Add wheat rawa and mix it well and fry for few more minutes.
- Now add the boiling water along with salt and mix it thoroughly.
- Close with a lid and cook on medium flame till all the water is absorbed.
