Ingredients

  • Green Gram Dal – ½ cup

  • Red Chilli – 2

  • Coconut gratings – 2 tablespoon

  • Garlic flakes – 2

  • Curry leaves – few

  • Asafoetida Powder – a pinch

  • Oil – teaspoon

  • Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste

Directions

  • In a kadai, dry fry the dal until it turns light brown. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same kadai, heat oil and add chilies, asafoetida and fry slightly. Add garlic, curry leaves, and coconut, and fry for a second. Remove and let it cool.
  • Place all the fried ingredients in a mixie jar, add salt and grind to a coarse paste, adding a little water.
