About Saraswathi Pooja
Saraswathi Pooja honours Goddess Saraswathi, the goddess of knowledge, music, arts and wisdom. It is celebrated on Maha Navami, the 9th day of Navaratri. On this day, books, musical instruments and the tools of one’s trade are placed before the goddess and worshipped — and traditionally left untouched until the next day. Children are often initiated into learning (Vidyarambham) on this auspicious day, and Ayudha Pooja on the following day is dedicated to the instruments and tools of our work.
