Beans Milk Curry

Indulge in a creamy and savory milk-based bean curry infused with aromatic spices and a hint of heat. Perfect with rice or chapati for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • Beans – 200 grams

  • Milk – 1 cup

  • Onion – 1

  • Garlic flakes – 10

  • Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon

  • Oil – 2 teaspoons

  • Sombu (aniseeds) – 1 teaspoon

  • Curry Leaves – few

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste

Directions

  • Wash the beans and split them lengthwise into two halves. Then, cut them into 2 to 3-inch pieces lengthwise. Lengthwise, chop the onion and garlic.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, and when hot, add aniseeds (sombu). Follow with curry leaves, chopped onion, and garlic, frying briefly.
  • Add the bean pieces and stir-fry for five minutes on a medium flame. Stir in red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly, then pour in the milk. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat until the milk is absorbed, and the beans are tender.
  • This curry pairs well with fried rice, chapathi, and toasted bread.
