Ingredients
- Idiyappam – 1 big bowl
- Onion – 1
- Green Chillies – 2
- Fresh ginger – a small piece
- Coconut gratings – 2 tablespoon
- Curry leaves – few
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
- Mustard – ½ teaspoon
- Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
- Oil – 1 tablespoon
Directions
- Chop onion, green chillies and ginger finely.
- Gently take out the idiyappam strings and make it loose. [Check here for Idiyappam Recipe].
- In a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it pops up, add urad dhal and fry lightly. Add chopped onion, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Fry till the onion turn slightly brown. Now add idiyappam strings and mix gently. Add lemon juice and little salt. Add finally coconut gratings and once again stir well.

Yes. You are right. Only certain people call this as “Sevai”, but normally in most of the places it is called “Idiyappam”.
