Ingredients

  • Tomato – 2

  • Onion – 2

  • Ginger – a small piece

  • Garlic – 4 flakes

  • Green Chillies – 2

  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin (Jeeragam) Powder – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder – 2 pinches

  • Oil – 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Jeeragam (Cumin) – 1/2 teaspoon

  • Mint Leaves – few

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Finely chop the tomato, onion, garlic, and ginger.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard and cumin seeds. Once they begin to crackle, add the chopped onion, green chili, garlic, and ginger, and sauté for a few minutes.
  • Then, mix in the tomato and cook until it softens completely. Stir in red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • Add a small amount of water and mix thoroughly. Cover with a lid and let it simmer. Continue cooking until the gravy thickens.
