This poriyal is made with cabbage, green peas and coconut gratings. Served as a side dish for rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 small cabbage (approx 250 gms)

  • 1/2 cup green peas

  • 1 tablespoon coconut gratings

  • 1 big onion

  • 3 green chillies

  • 1 spring curry leaves

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 1 teaspoon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon Salt or as per taste

Directions

  • Cut the cabbage into fine bits.
  • Chop the onion, curry leaves and green chillies.
  • In a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add one teaspoon mustard.
  • When it pops up, add Onions, green chillies and curry leaves and fry for two minutes.
  • Add cabbage, green peas and mix well. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame. No need to add water. Stir now and then till it is cooked.
  • Now add salt and mix well for few seconds.
  • Then add coconut gratings and mix well.
