- Vendaikai – 10 or 15 Nos
- Onion – 1 (medium size)
- Tomato – 1
- Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder – 2 teaspoons
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Mustard – ½ teaspoon
- Jeera – ½ teaspoon
- Curry leaves – few
- Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste
Wash and wipe the okra. Cut it into 2 inch pieces slightly crosswise.
Chop onion and tomato lengthwise.
In a tawa put one or two teaspoon of oil and add okra pieces. Keep the flame in medium and fry till light brown spots appear on the okra. Remove and keep it aside.
Same tawa put the remaining oil and when it is hot add mustard. When it pops up add jeera and curry leaves. Then add chopped onion and fry till it become transparent. Add fried okra pieces along with red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric and salt. Mix everything well. Finally add tomato pieces and once again stir it. Allow to cook for few more seconds and remove.
This will go well with rice and chapati.
