Mochai Kottai Kuzhambu is a tangy, comforting South Indian gravy where pressure-cooked mochai kottai (field beans) simmer in a bold tamarind base spiced with sambar powder and turmeric. A smooth coconut paste is stirred in to mellow the heat and add creamy body, then everything is finished with a fragrant tempering of mustard, curry leaves, and chopped onion. The result is a rich, aromatic kuzhambu that pairs perfectly with hot rice.
A delicious gravy that is made with mochai kottai (dried beans). We can also substitute Mochai Kottai with Karamani (cow gram) or Whole gram (Kondai kadalai).
