In a mixie put the beetroot pieces, add 1/2 cup water and grind it to a fine puree. Strain the puree , separate the beetroot juice and store in separately.
In a frying pan (kadai) add ghee and rawa. Then fry till nice aroma comes out. Cut the banana into small pieces (or mash it and add) and mix well. Add milk and stir well. Once the milk is absorbed, then add beetroot juice and mix it thoroughly. Then add sugar and stir continuously till it become thick and leaves the sides of the vessel. If necessary add few drops of ghee so that the kesari will come out of the vessel without sticking. Finally add cardamom powder and chopped cashew nuts. Mix well and remove.

Should we cook the beetroot and then grind it? Rawa is large size or small size?
No need to cook. Just grind it raw. Small size rawa blends well. However, you can also use bigger size raw too.
