Thank you so much for the wonderful receipes for vinayaka-chathurthi.
Hi Mami,
Thanks a lot for the information and recepies. Wishing your family a very happy Vinayaka Chaturthi.
Uma Ramachandran.
We were anxiously waiting, & got it from you. Thanks a lot.
A welcome post just before the Festival. Thank you.
Hello,
Thank you for the wonderful recipes. I am newly married and just set up my own home. This is the first time I will be trying kozhukattai all by myself, thanks to your recipe 🙂
I have another suggestion. Sometimes just to make a variety, amma adds some idli milagai podi to the rice floor and makes small balls (like cheedai). She then steams this in the cooker as kaara kozhukattai. Because we get tired of eating more than 3-4 sweet kozhukattai each, this simple kaara kozhukattai is a nice change without having to make anything separate.

Hi mam, I’m back again.I’m taking recipes from you to cook on ganeshchathurti.
Could you please tell me what all to cook on that day for afternoon lunch.Morning we will prepare sundal, kozhukattai, vadai like that. But I’m confused now what to cook on lunch.please advise
Hi Suchithra,
For lunch, you can prepare regular sambar/rasam/kootu along with “Payasam”. But in most houses, people prepare kozhukattai/sundal/vadai etc., along with other lunch items and offer to God. In some parts of Tamil Nadu, Kozhukattai and sundal are prepared for evening Neivedyam. Since we have to offer “Neivedyam” for the Ganesh Idol three times a day till we immerse it, you can choose dishes according to your convenience.
Thank you mam.
WISH U A HAPPY VINAYAKA CHARTHURTHI
Thank you and wish you the same to you and your family.
i tried rava kozhukattai.it came hard.can u tell me why?
Hi Meena,
May be you have not added enough water to make the dough. You have to make a soft dough by adding sufficient water.
Hi mami,
Y cant u share some payasam recipe’s…… for this aadi masam???
Hi Divya,
I have already posted some Payasam recipes. Please check under “Sweet” category in this website.

You are doing a wonderful job, kamala.
Can you please give me some tips for soft neyappams? Is there a right proportion of rice flour & gud? Can you post / share your recipe for appams? Why are my appams hard?
Thanks in advance,
Ranjani
Please check my version of appam. I used to add Riped banana to get softness.
